Denemon is a long-established miso producer that has been making quality miso-based products like tamari shoyu since the Edo period. Located in Taketoyo town, Aichi prefecture, Denemon has focused on creating the highest quality miso and tamari shoyu for the past 6 generations.

Denemon uses only specially selected domestic whole soybeans, high-quality sun-dried salt, and a fermenting agent known as koji, which are combined together in a cedar barrel for three years to create their miso, as well as this tamari shoyu.

The long brewing and aging process required to create this tamari shoyu results in a deep and rich flavor, stronger than a typical soy sauce. Interestingly, it is less salty than typical soy sauce, resulting in a perfectly-balanced product that is rich and flavorful.

The intense flavor of this tamari shoyu, combined with its perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness, makes it a fantastic choice for red meat, sushi, and even marinades. You’ll be able to create the best homemade teriyaki glaze using this tamari shoyu!

Denemon tamari shoyu also has a texture thicker than typical soy sauces, making it great for dipping, as it sticks well to the food you dip in it.

As this tamari sauce does not contain wheat, it is a great choice for people following a gluten-free diet or those with a gluten intolerance.

Denemon tamari is ideal for dipping sushi and meat, it’s also great for simmered dishes, teriyaki, and yakiniku.

This tamari shoyu tastes especially delicious when small amounts of wasabi or grated ginger are added.

Note: this tamari shoyu is less salty than conventional shoyu, but it is still deep in flavor. Because tamari has a stronger flavor than other soy sauces, start with half the amount you would use if you were using a regular soy sauce, and adjust the taste by adding small amounts at a time.
