Matcha Salon Hitokoto in Himeji

Matcha Salon Hitokoto in Himeji-Japanese Taste

Himeji is a city located in Hyogo Prefecture in Japan. This city is more famous for hosting one of the biggest and most visited castles in Japan and UNESCO World Heritage site since 1993; Himeji castle. But Himeji has also other things to offer and in this post we would like to talk about one of them; a tea-house called Matcha Salon Hitokoto.

Salon Hitokoto is a tea-house or Japanese style cafeteria specialised in matcha (green tea powder). The menu consists of many typical Japanese sweets and desserts such as; green tea flavored warabimochi, matcha soba noodles, matcha parfait or matcha ice-cream.

We tried the matcha parfait which consists of different layers of ingredients such as green tea jelly, anko (sweet azuki beans paste) , cream, corn flakes, raspberries, matcha sponge cake, dango and matcha ice-cream.
