The Ichidagaki is sweeter than other varieties of persimmon. It has a light brown color and a soft, chewy flesh. In addition to the qualities of Ichida persimmon, proper drying and kneading techniques are also important to make these premium Japanese dried persimmons.
Ichida persimmons are cultivated only in the south area of Nagano Prefecture, a region where the cultivation of kakis has continued for more than 500 years.

I bought these for my mother. She said they are very sweet. These look small but they are actually quite big. If you ever dehydrate fruits, you know the fruits get small. So these are very nice size.

I love persimmons, fresh or dry, and this product is excellent—moist and chewy sweetness. My only warning is about the seeds: some have 3-4 seeds, and if not careful you might bite into one.

These are tasty, but not worth all the hype (or price). Mine started getting weird (wet and gummy) within a few days of opening the package, which meant we had to eat them quickly. Do yourself a favor and find cheaper dried persimmons, or even just dried apricots. They don't have the fuzzy outer skins that apricots do, but they taste pretty similar.
