Fundokin

Fundokin

Fundokin is a traditional soy sauce maker from Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan. With a rich history rooted in craftsmanship, Fundokin continues to produce authentic soy sauce using time-honored methods. Instead of relying on machines or digital technology, their artisans trust the human senses to judge aroma, flavor, and texture with precision and care.

At the heart of their production stands a monumental 9-meter-tall wooden barrel, officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest wooden brewing barrel. This impressive vessel houses living microorganisms that contribute to the distinctive depth, aroma, and complexity of Fundokin’s soy sauce, a flavor that simply can’t be replicated by modern techniques.

In addition to soy sauce, Fundokin also offers a variety of miso pastes, dressings, and condiments.
