Harimaen is a tea company deeply committed to peace of mind, health, and the natural environment. Located in Ujitawara Town in the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture, at an altitude of about 250 meters, this area is the birthplace of Japanese green tea and a major producer of Uji tea. The region's large temperature differences between morning and evening, frequent fog, and carbonaceous ground with good drainage create an ideal climate for growing high-quality tea. Harimaen takes full advantage of this natural bounty, practicing safe and secure organic cultivation that is gentle on the body, using only organic fertilizers without relying on pesticides. Their aromatic tea, painstakingly cultivated, offers a truly exquisite tasting experience.

Harimaen produces a plethora of Japanese green teas, including matcha, sencha, hojicha, gyokuro, genmaicha, and more. They also offer premium varieties of Japanese tea like shincha and sannen bancha, which are quite difficult to find outside of Japan. Harimaen's dedication to organic farming practices and meticulous cultivation methods ensures that each type of tea they produce is of the highest quality, offering a delightful and authentic Japanese tea experience.

The production cycle at Harimaen is meticulously planned to maintain the highest quality standards. In April, preparations for the new tea harvest begin, followed by the production of first tea in May and re-harvesting for bancha in June. The second crop production takes place in July, with weeding work continuing through August and September. Fertilization occurs twice a year, in spring and autumn, using only natural fertilizers to enrich the soil across their 7-hectare field. This dedication to organic farming not only ensures the health of their tea but also supports the local ecosystem.
