This is a high-quality and organic variety of loose-leaf Gyokuro from Harimaen, a tea manufacturer local to Kyoto. Gyokuro is well known for having a nice balance of natural sweetness and umami, without being overly astringent.
Gyokuro is a high class Japanese tea that is grown in shaded conditions to give the tea plenty of natural umami flavor and aroma. These particular gyokuro tea leaves have been grown in Uji city, Kyoto prefecture and have been shaded for 20 days to prevent sunlight from touching the leaves.
This gyokuro green tea has a rich aroma and sophisticated taste. You can easily enjoy the tea just by dipping the tea bag into hot water.
Harimaen from the Ujitawara area of Kyoto, produces organic teas by making the most of the natural blessing environment.
