This is a kuromitsu, which is also known as brown sugar syrup or Japanese black honey, is one of the traditional Japanese sweet seasonings and has a distinctive, fresh sweetness.
This product is made from Okinawan brown sugar which is characterized by a mild sweet flavor. It is said that brown sugar has more minerals and B vitamins than white sugar or honey.
Kousyo's kuromitsu also contains an oligosaccharide, so by consuming this product regularly you can improve your gastrointestinal condition.
Add this syrup to your desserts such as anmitsu (Japanese confectionery made with anko paste, fruits, agar jelly, and rice dumpling); it also goes well with the desserts like yogurt, pancake, and ice cream.

The Kuromitsu is absolutely amazing. We are using it for food compliments but primarily as a replacement for simple syrup in our cocktails after dinner. You have to try this in an Old Fashioned!
