Kracie was founded in 1887 as the Kanegafuchi Spinning Company, a textile manufacturer. Throughout the next 70 years, they established themselves as one of the largest textile companies in Japan, expanding into China and Brazil.

Throughout the 1960s, they expanded into confectionery, pharmaceutical and cosmetics production. Eventually their cosmetics department, called Kanebo absorbed the rest of Kanegafuchi, and the company as a whole was renamed Kanebo in 1971.

In 2007, Kanebo was split in two, with the cosmetics brand remaining under the Kanebo name, and the pharmaceuticals, confectionery and daily necessities brands being consolidated and renamed Kracie.

Today, Kracie is one of Japan's leading toiletries and confectionery brands, producing a wide range of soaps, shampoos, candies and snacks.
