It is made from 100% Japanese wasabi produced in Shizuoka, and unlike most wasabi pastes, this product does not contain Western horseradish.
The coarsely grated paste has sharper pungency than fine pastes and goes very well with sashimi; however, the manufacturer recommends to use this product as an ingredient for dipping sauce because it melts smooth and the flavor lasts longer.

I have been very disappointed with the selection here in Finland. The only “wasabi” I have found here is mostly horseradish with only less than 10% wasabi. Therefore I ordered real wasabi and I’m very pleased. The taste is fantastic and I will later on order more and perhaps try other real wasabis as well.
