We much prefer wasabi paste that is made from actual wasabi root and not horseradish (which is more commonly available in the US). This one is wonderful! It has the true flavor of fresh wasabi root, but it is already prepared in a paste that we can use directly. True wasabi has an earthy aroma, and delightful taste in addition to adding the spiciness. And since it it made from Japanese wasabi, it does not have the nasal fire that the colored horseradish 'wasabi' pastes have. This one enhances the flavor of your sashimi or sushi.
