If youre looking for the perfect drink for your gatherings and parties, youve come to a right place. This refreshing, sparkling black tea, infused with a burst of citrus from grapefruit, will elevate your party experience to the next level.

What makes this drink special is its combination of sparkling, fruit and tea. It is not just a fizzy refreshment; it offers a subtle elegance, with a hint of clean, crisp finish. You can enjoy it with both meals and desserts! In this article, Ill walk you through how to make grapefruit tea.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

To make grape fruit tea, I prepared a concentrated tea syrup. This tea syrup is so convenient. Once you have it, you can create countless variations by simply diluting it with fresh fruit juice or waters, such as regular sparkling water, tonic water and flavored water. Im sure youll love this recipe for its easy versatility and endless variations!

Ingredients Overview

Grapefruit - Fresh grapefruit is ideal. It provides a full, natural flavor. However, if you prefer a shortcut to make grapefruit tea, you can use these alternatives.

Ready-made grapefruit juice - Grape fruit juice is a simple and affordable option. Japanese Drinking Vinegar Pink Grapefruit Flavor is another great pick. It adds a mild vinegar tang that makes the tea extra refreshing and invigorating.

Tea - For the tea itself, Ive used black tea for this recipe as it pairs beautifully with grapefruit and sparkling water. I chose tea bags for convenience, but you can also use fresh tea leaves to your preference as well.

Sparkling water - As the sparkling water makes up about half the total volume. I recommend extra fizzy, sugar-free options, though Ive also enjoyed it with tonic water, for a twist.

Tips to Know Before You Start

Avoid the Grapefruit Pith – The secret to a great grapefruit tea is minimizing bitterness. Most of the bitterness comes from the peel and the white pith, so be careful to keep them out of your juice. I prefer squeezing the grapefruit by hand instead of using a juicer or citrus squeezer, as it produces a cleaner, brighter grapefruit flavor. I'll also show you exactly how I squeeze the grapefruit in the recipe section below.

Don't Over-Steep or Squeeze the Tea – Over-steeping tea or squeezing the tea bags or leaves can release unwanted bitterness. Follow the steeping time recommended on your tea package, then gently remove the tea bags or loose tea leaves from the hot water without squeezing or pressing them.

Variations & Serving Ideas

I made this drink with black tea, but you can customize this drink with other teas such as oolong tea and flavored fruit teas. Just by swapping out the grapefruit with other citrusy fruits, you can create endless variations.
