This is an iron frying pan from Chitose, that is made of the highest quality iron, and uses natural wood for the handle. Chitose is serious about iron cookware and the ways in which iron benefits you in the kitchen. They say that the more you use iron, the better it will become. As time goes on, iron cookware begins to form a natural coating of oil, which transforms it into a durable non-stick tool that you can use for years to come, if you take care of it correctly.
This sleek and stylish frying pan is made to last, featuring a unique process of silicone resin coating, and a multi-functional design. As it is deeper than a typical frying pan, it's perfect for stir-frying, as the ingredients are less likely to spill. It can be used much in the same way as a flat-bottomed wok.
The thin layer of silicone resin coating this pan initially makes it non-stick, and rust-resistant. With time, this coating will wear off, and from that point seasoning with a thin layer of oil is recommended to maintain the non-rust and non-stick properties. To extend the life of the silicone coating, make sure you wash the pan gently, with a soft sponge and minimal dish soap.
When using for the first time, or after the silicone resin has peeled off, please season the pan thoroughly with oil. To season, first wash the pan with soapy water, then heat over medium until all of the water dries. Turn off the heat, and put an inch of oil into the pan, heat over low for three minutes, and then pour out and discard the oil. Let it cool, and wipe the surface with kitchen paper.
After use, wash while warm with water and a gentle sponge (do not use dish soap), dry thoroughly and apply a thin layer of oil with kitchen paper.
