UCC

UCC is one of Japan’s most influential coffee companies, founded in 1933 in Kobe by Tadao Ueshima. From its beginnings as a small purveyor of beans, the brand grew alongside Japan’s emerging coffee culture and quickly became a trusted name in quality coffee.

By 1958, UCC’s popularity led to the opening of its own café in Fukuoka, and in 1969, the company revolutionized the industry by creating the world’s first canned coffee. This innovation transformed coffee consumption in Japan and remains a beloved staple today.

UCC now manages its own coffee farms in Hawaii, Jamaica, and Indonesia, ensuring sustainable, ethical, and fully traceable production. Their Jamaican estate was the first in the country to receive Rainforest Alliance certification, reinforcing UCC’s commitment to responsible sourcing and exceptional flavor.
